Technical Information & FAQ

What is containerboard? Containerboard is the collective term for paper grades such as fluting, testliner, white liner, brown liner and other coated papers. It is primarily used in the production of corrugated packaging. At NB Paper, our containerboard grades are produced from 100% recycled or sustainably sourced fibres.

What is the difference between fluting and testliner? Fluting paper forms the wave‑shaped medium between liners and provides cushioning and structural strength. Testliner paper forms the flat outer surfaces of the board, offering strength, protection and a printable surface for branding and messaging. Both are essential components of corrugated packaging and work together to deliver robust, sustainable solutions.

Are your papers recyclable and sustainable? Yes. All of our papers are made from recycled or sustainably sourced fibres, supporting a circular economy and reducing environmental impact. They can be recycled after use, helping close the loop on packaging waste.
